I made a function which joins array elements starting at the array's current internal position.
function implode_ref( $glue, &$array )
{
$ret = '';
while( list( $key, $val ) = each( $array ) )
{
$ret .= $glue . $val;
}
return substr( $ret, strlen( $glue ) );
}
