To "explode" a string or real without separators but regular string lengths, use
str_split(string,times),

$num = 635462;
$times = 1;
$numarr = str_split($num,$times);
print_r($numarr);
?>
Outputs:

(
[0] => 6
[1] => 3
[2] => 5
[3] => 4
[4] => 6
[5] => 2
)
