I know this is not the place for support but the supplied information for createing a DOMdocument is
incorrect for PHP php4-domxml-4.4.2_1 (running on FreeBSD)
After doing some searching via google it seems that the syntax could possibley be
new DOMDocument('<root />');
Doing the later one (For 4.4.2_1) will only result in a cryptic error that will drive you nuts.
