Re darkfalconIV at hotmail dot com: Of course it will return 'Monkey'. Calling Man::getType() should be cosidered a fatal error anyway since there is no static method getType() declared in Man class. Static methods should not get inherited in the first place. I cannot think of a situation when one would accualy need to call a static method from a child since the method is declared in the parent class so it cannot use any features child class provides anyway. ---- Server IP: 81.223.254.68 Probable Submitter: 217.96.228.130 ---- X-Spam-Status: No, hits=3.1 required=5.0 tests=DATE_MISSING,FROM_NO_LOWER autolearn=no version=2.64 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.get-class.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/note/edit/63630 Del: integrated -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63630/integrated Del: useless -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63630/useless Del: bad code -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63630/bad+code Del: spam -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63630/spam Del: non-english -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63630/non-english Del: in docs -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63630/in+docs Del: other reasons-- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63630 Reject -- http://master.php.net/note/reject/63630 Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
