The Etc/GMT+2, Etc/GMT-5 etc. timezones are incorrectly labeled on systems that use GNU glibc. All the timezone labels starting with "Etc/" have plus and minus characters reversed. That is, if you want time for GMT+4 you have to set the timezone to "Etc/GMT-4". This is because (old) POSIX standard has them this way! The official party line seems to be DO NOT USE Etc/* TIMEZONES. It's not a bug, it's a compability feature! ---- Server IP: 80.81.171.181 Probable Submitter: 130.234.89.166 ---- X-Spam-Status: No, hits=3.1 required=5.0 tests=DATE_MISSING,FROM_NO_LOWER autolearn=no version=2.64 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.date-default-timezone-set.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/note/edit/63730 Del: integrated -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63730/integrated Del: useless -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63730/useless Del: bad code -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63730/bad+code Del: spam -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63730/spam Del: non-english -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63730/non-english Del: in docs -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63730/in+docs Del: other reasons-- http://master.php.net/note/delete/63730 Reject -- http://master.php.net/note/reject/63730 Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
