In PHP 5.0.3, this function appears to automatically escape html special characters similar to the
function htmlentities().
Examples:
<?php
$name="C & D Plumbing";
$child=$root->appendChild($anyDOM->createElement("name"));
$child->appendChild($anyDOM->createTextNode($name));
?>
Will produce:
<name>C & D Plumbing</name>
While...
<?php
$name=htmlentities("C & D Plumbing");
$child=$root->appendChild($eventDOM->createElement("name"));
$child->appendChild($eventDOM->createTextNode($name));
?>
Will produce:
<name>C &amp; D Plumbing</name>
