note 64980 added to function.memcache-addserver

Does anyone know why I keep getting errors when I try to connect to memcache? I'm running a high traffic web site, and every once in a while random memcache servers cause errors and just refuse to connect. I either get the connection timed out or the unknown error(0) error. What's going on?
