I have Apache 2.0.55 and am running PHP 5.0.5.
I recently came into trouble with the way highlight string was parsing the string properly. I spent
two days trying chunks of code after code. No matter what I tried, the string was just not colouring
properly and the output was completely random - sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't.
Sometimes the html characters would decode, other times they wouldn't. It was truely annoying
and I hope no one goes through it because the worst bit of all was that it was undocumented I
couldn't find anything anywhere...
The solution? Restart the server!!
I've posted this here as I discovered the problem with the highlight_string() function but
I'm sure it can apply to many other places. Now it works perfect.
