This funny little program will output a string like a set of stairs :)
<?php
echo '<pre>';
$string = 'Houseparty';
for ($i = 0; $i < strlen($string); $i++) {
echo substr($string, 0, $i) . "\n";
}
for ($i = strlen($string); $i > 0; $i--) {
echo substr($string, 0, $i) . "\n";
}
echo '</pre>';
?>
