new line problems when writing to a text file?
try using double quotes instead of single. i.e.
i.e.
$newdata= $textstring . "\r\n";
fwrite($fp,$newdata);
instead of
$newdata= $textstring . '\r\n';
fwrite($fp,$newdata);
which - for me at least - just puts a literal \r\n at the end of the line
