Especially when writing PHP scripts for use on different servers, it is a very good idea to explicitly set the internal encoding somewhere on top of every document served, e.g. mb_internal_encoding("UTF-8"); This, in combination with mysql-statement "SET NAMES 'utf8'", will save a lot of debugging trouble. Also, use the multi-byte string functions instead of the ones you may be used to, e.g. mb_strlen() instead of strlen(), etc. ---- Server IP: 194.109.193.119 Probable Submitter: 62.194.30.65 ---- X-Spam-Status: No, hits=3.1 required=5.0 tests=DATE_MISSING,FROM_NO_LOWER autolearn=no version=2.64 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mb-internal-encoding.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/note/edit/66568 Del: integrated -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/66568/integrated Del: useless -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/66568/useless Del: bad code -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/66568/bad+code Del: spam -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/66568/spam Del: non-english -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/66568/non-english Del: in docs -- http://master.php.net/note/delete/66568/in+docs Del: other reasons-- http://master.php.net/note/delete/66568 Reject -- http://master.php.net/note/reject/66568 Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
