I am running cyrus 2.2 and i have found out the following:
to be able to create a mailbox in the "root" folder of the cyrus mailserver, you have to
use the following syntax:
<?php
$res = imap_createmailbox($imap_conn,"{whatever}MyNewMailbox"));
?>
it seems as if the string inside the "{}" does not matter.
