An easy way to start a program and don't get the problem when the PHP code hangs. Tested on
Windows.

exec("start /D \"C:\\LocationToProgramExeFile\" /B program.exe");
?>
And to terminate the program:

exec("TASKKILL /F /IM program.exe /T");
?>
