I'm having the same problems with fsockopen as well. I'm not shore what's the problem
but yes .. with no script-modifications when I've upgraded to 4.2.2 I've encountered the
failed "to open stream: Permission denied" error. I've tried on the 5.1.4 version as
well. I believe curl is the solution - at list till the bug is resolved. There are no permission
rights problems - that's for shore!
