I have installed Tidy on Debian on PHP 4.3.x only to find it missing some time later. I have no idea
where the problem came from, but tidy (though installed) wasn't showing on phpinfo() page and
wasn't working. The system has been upgraded to PHP 4.4.x in the mean time - that could be the
reason.
Anyway, finally fixed it:
- uninstalled libtidy-dev (and all connected packages)
- pear uninstall tidy
- pear install tidy
- apt-get install libtidy-dev
- add extension=tidy.so to php.ini
- restart apache
Hope it helps someone.
