For EXTREMELY EASY installation of PHP 5.x on Apache servers 2.2.x just download the
php5apache2_2.dll
that comes with the dev releases from: http://snaps.php.net
and use this on the httpd config file:
# For PHP 5 do something like this:
LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2_2.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
# configure the path to php.ini
PHPIniDir "C:/php/"
It worked perfectly well for me =) Although php.net doen't recomend mixing files from different
releases so use it at your own risk
