Note Submitter: mike at teklust dot net ---- a easy alternative to manually installing apache and php on a windows system, is the uniform server. i stumbled across this project not too long ago, and it has come in handy not only for learning php locally, but also when testing designs. it is a standalone apache install with php, sql, and other features ready to go. its usability can also be enhanced with other plugins that are offered. the official site is: http://www.uniformserver.com/
