please note that if safe_mode is turned on, the cmd parameter is
processed by the internal function php_escape_shell_cmd() (the same as
escapeshellcmd) which may lead to confusion if you already did use
escapeshellarg() or escapeshellcmd(). so if you are aware of escaping
"techniques", you simply could turn off safe_mode for the particular
file/directory/whatever ;-)
