One of the "alternative" control structures that I really liked when I first saw PHP was: <statement> or die(); The only trouble is... it does not appear to extend to things like: <statement> or return( "Failed with error" . mysqlerror() ); Or does it? Or if not, why not? It would be really handy for someone with greater PHP knowledge to end the googlequest and give a definitive answer somewhere appropriate... ---- Server IP: 203.89.181.184 Probable Submitter: 210.246.6.234 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/control-structures.alternative-syntax.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/72539 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/72539/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/72539/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/72539/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/72539/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/72539/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/72539/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/72539 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/72539 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
