This function seems to be just a quick hack; not only does it fail on multiline metas, it also
parses only the first (of multiple) metas in one line and it
insists on having the metas in quotes.
So bascially, it can only be used reliably for local files under your control as it does not cope
with the different variations how metas are coded net-wide.
