I was inspired by sam's code to use it to strip tags into rendered info by making < and >
into '< and > respectively:
// clean url attributes of html tags
if(!empty($_REQUEST)){
foreach($_REQUEST as $x => $y){
$_REQUEST[$x] = str_replace('<', '<',
str_replace('>', '>', $y));
}
}
