I am writing a PHP processor for giant log files, for the purpose of parsing then storing them in a
database. It works very well and fiddling with max execution time and the max memory is not a
problem for a standalone script. It would be a problem for a PHP script running in a webserver, but
that's not the case.
PHP works very well for standalone scripts, it's just something that not many people are aware
of.
