Even though the sample php.ini file and these docs say use backslashes, Apache required me to use:
extension_dir = d:/bin/PHP/extensions
in order to find my .dll's under Win2k.
Also, I had to copy some of the dll's in the PHP/dll folder to WINNT/system32 in order for,
e.g., curl to work.
If you're having problems, the event viewer application logs should tell you why apache is
having trouble loading something -- this was invaluable for debugging my install.
