Dearest,
Forgive me if I didn't put this at the right place. I díd read the
instructions though and I still believe this is relevant. Read on.
You see, I didn't ask a question, report a bug or suggest new feature. The
bug is already reported and accepted(!) as a bug on the bugs site (trice
even).
I just wanted to get it in the manual to warn people. I have seen this
before in the existing manual(s) many times, mentioning for example
something like "Windows users, be careful: Before php 5.2.2 some functions
are not binary safe" inside the relevant help page. OK, maybe not as
comment, but as one of these red or yellow warning boxes inside the manual.
So, how does that work? How do I do that?
I merely want to help and evade people looking for an answer that I spent 8
hours on and then discovering it wás an accepted bug already.
Thank you for a possible positive answer,
Cheers,
Ruben.

You are receiving this email because your note posted to the
online PHP manual has been removed by one of the editors.
Read the following paragraphs carefully, because they contain
pointers to resources better suited for requesting support or
reporting bugs, none of which are to be included in manual
notes because there are mechanisms and groups in place to deal
with those issues.
The user contributed notes are not an appropriate place to ask
questions, report bugs or suggest new features; please use the
resources listed on <http://php.net/support> for those
purposes. This was clearly stated in the page you used to
submit your note, please carefully re-read those instructions
before submitting future contributions.
Bug submissions and feature requests should be entered at
<http://bugs.php.net/>. For documentation errors use the
bug
system, and classify the bug as "Documentation problem".
Support and ways to find answers to your questions can be found
at <http://php.net/support>.
Your note has been removed from the online manual.

I have been testing some problems I had and they didn't make
any logical sense untill I discovered that there is a bug for
windows users that isn't solved untill 5.2.2. It has something
to do with binary safe mode not fully implemented.
It results in corrupted zip files unfortunatly.
