Unless I'm misunderstanding something you posted there, you're not actually creating a
persistent connection, all you're doing is creating two instances of class A which are named $a
and $b, and which carry the same database connection internally. At the end of the page hit, the
connection will still be torn down, and on the next page hit you will still have to establish a new
connection.
