Changing the value of $length may yield to different download speeds when serving a file from a script. I was not able to max out my 10mbps connection when 4096 was used. I found out that using 16384 would use all the available bandwidth. When outputing binary data with fread, do not assume that 4096 or 8192 is the optimal value for you. Do some benchmarks by downloading files through your script. ---- Server IP: 69.147.83.197 Probable Submitter: 74.57.223.111 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fread.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/74162 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74162/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74162/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74162/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74162/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74162/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74162/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74162 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/74162 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
