It adds more confusion with the new hash() function producing different outputs: dechex(crc32('a')): e8b7be43 hash('crc32', 'a'): 6b9b9319 hash('crc32b', 'a'): 43beb7e8 Now it appears that the original implementation of crc32() outputs a reversed byte order of the new hash('crc32b',-) version. Someone please clarify the situation a little bit as to which version is the right one to use (standard, platform dependency etc.), thanks! ---- Server IP: 69.147.83.197 Probable Submitter: 208.120.56.178 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.crc32.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/74518 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74518/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74518/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74518/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74518/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74518/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74518/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/74518 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/74518 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
