Either I'm very confused, or does setAttribute return FALSE if it succeeds and TRUE if it
fails? At least,
$dbh->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE,PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION);
returns FALSE when using MySQL. On the other hand,
$dbh->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE,9999);
returns true, along with an error message. By using $dbh->getAttribute I have verified that the
setAttribute call does, in fact, change the error mode to 2.
