Note Submitter: YOMI_IN_NYC at unknown dot com ---- INSTALLING IMAGEMAGICK FOR PHP 5.*.* ON WIN 32. the installation is very easy. REMOVING THE TICK if you installed imagick using the php installation wizard, you will have to uninstall it (using the php installation wizard and there are other ways as well). otherwise, you will continue getting error messages about the DestroyDrawingWand, the CORE_RL_magick_.dll and so on. INSTALLING IMAGEMAGICK all you have to do is download the two DLL files from this URL: http://www.magickwand.org/download/php/windows/php-5.2.0/ their names are: (i) php_magickwand_dyn.dll (ii) php_magickwand_q16_st.dll download both files, directly into the (EXTENSION) "ext" folder of your PHP folder, the path to the folder on my computer is : C:\PHP\ext\ yours might be: C:\Program Files\PHP\ext\ now open the php.ini file in the directory "\PHP\php.ini" it is a text file, so open it with a text editor like notebook. scroll down to the bottom of the page and add the following: ;magickwand extensions extension=php_magickwand_dyn.dll extension=php_magickwand_q16_st.dll then SAVE the change you've made (with notebook, go to file and simply click on save). the first line is simply a comment and it is not necessary, however, it is wise to have a comment like that to remind you that the extension is a non-standard one, so if the authors of PHP decide to provide a standard extension for image magick in the future, you won't have a hard-time locating and identifying these links if you may need to delete them. that's it folks....... LIFE AFTER INSTALLATION now the second problem you will face is with the current documentation for image magick on php.net. As of May 2nd 2007, the image magick documentation is obsolete. Go to: http://www.magickwand.org/ for the new functions and the new documentation. the functions presently on php.net will not work with this new installation.
