In UTF-8 encoded file, '\x00's are inserted between ASCII characters, e.g. 'Content
' becomes:
43 00 6F 00 6E 00 74 00 65 00 6E 00 74 00 20 00 ; C.o.n.t.e.n.t. .
I tried uft8-decode() to delete those '\x00's on couple of platforms but no effect.
Instead, I had to use
str_replace("\x00", "", $str)
