If anyone else out there is having a problem with the 'general repetition quantifier',
please take heed of the note ", separated by a comma." (which should be rewritten
",separated ..." !) Specifically,
<?php
$pattern = '/z{2, 4}/';
?>
is NEVER what you want. Ensure there is no comma between the min and max values:
<?php
$pattern = '/z{2,4}/';
?>
