----
I have been having trouble using gd on PHP Version 5.2.0.
I had PHP installed correctly, the correct dll was in the
extension directory, and the extension directory was
listed correctly. I restarted IIS a dozen times, trying to
make sure I had everything listed correctly. It wasn't until
I switched over to the executable (cgi) version of PHP (in
IIS) that I got it to work. I was previously using the ISAPI
version of PHP through IIS.
If this is a problem for other users, they should delete the
dll application mapping, and add the application mapping
for the cgi version.
To delete the mapping to the .dll version of PHP:
1 open IIS
2 expand the "local computer" tree (or wherever the
websites are listed)
3 right click on "web sites" and select "properties"
4 click the "home directory" tab
5 click "configuration"
6 under the "mapping" tab, find the ".php" mapping. If the
mapping is a .dll file, then select it, and click the "delete"
button.
to add mapping to the cgi version:
1 in the area where you left off in the deleting, click the
"add" button.
2 browse to find the PHP executable "php-cgi.exe". Keep
in mind that if you have PHP is a sub-directory, you may
have to use 8.3 notation:
"C:\Program Files\php\php-cgi.exe"
should be:
"C:\Progra~1\php\php-cgi.exe"
or else it won't work on some versions of IIS.
3 check the box next to "check if file exists"
4 click ok to the rest of the dialogs
5 restart IIS
The installation of PHP is better detailed in this website:
