You should be careful when using "random" or "time specific" information to effect the outcome of the encryption. Keep in mind that if it's used for, say a user's password, that you will need to generate the same outcome in order to compare the user's input, to whatever you have in the database. It might be a suggestion to store your "unique key", with the user's information inside the database. ---- Server IP: 216.235.15.211 Probable Submitter: 207.6.170.19 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.crypt.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/77226 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/77226/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/77226/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/77226/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/77226/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/77226/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/77226/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/77226 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/77226 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
