PHP 4 in GNU/Linux (Debian Etch) has this version: "4.3.10-21"
You could wrap using floatval:
floatval(PHP_VERSION) but this could probably change in a next php version so floatval would return
another value like 4, 0 or FALSE.
I would not recommend to numerically compare version numbers!
