I don't believe the myth that 'memory_size' should be the size of the uploaded file. The files are definitely not kept in memory... instead uploaded chunks of 1MB each are stored under /var/tmp and later on rebuild under /tmp before moving to the web/user space. I'm running a linux-box with only 64MB RAM, setting the memory_limit to 16MB and uploading files of sizes about 100MB is no problem at all! Nevertheless, some users reported a problem at a few 100MB, but that's not confirmed... ;-) The other sizes in php.ini are set to 1GB and the times to 300... maybe the execution_time limits before, since the CPU is just a 233MHz one... :-) ---- Server IP: 217.160.72.57 Probable Submitter: 85.180.68.182 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.file-upload.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/78017 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/78017/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/78017/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/78017/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/78017/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/78017/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/78017/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/78017 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/78017 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
