Something innovative for a change ;-) For a news system, I have a special format for links:
"Go to the [Blender3D Homepage|http://www.blender3d.org] for more Details"
To get this into a link, use:
$new = preg_replace('/\[(.*?)\|(.*?)\]/', '<a href="$2"
target="_blank">$1</a>', $new);
