One note on the regular expressions provided that claim to validate e-mail addresses: They're incomplete. To quote the note submission page, just a couple paragraphs above the box where you type in your note: "(And if you're posting an example of validating email addresses, please don't bother. Your example is almost certainly wrong for some small subset of cases. See this information from O'Reilly Mastering Regular Expressions book [http://examples.oreilly.com/regex/readme.html] for the gory details.)" That said, the expressions as provided aren't COMPLETELY irrelevant -- they WILL validate MOST e-mail addresses, and you won't really be blocking any significant portion of the population by using them. Just be aware of the limitations. ---- Server IP: 209.41.74.194 Probable Submitter: 4.230.108.69 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.preg-match.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/80068 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80068/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80068/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80068/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80068/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80068/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80068/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80068 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/80068 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
