note 80792 added to function.shell-exec

Under windows, disappointingly, you can't execute windowed programs. i.e.: shell_exec('C:\progra~1\Mozilla\firefox.exe'); The process WILL run, but it seems to freeze, the browser does nothing until you kill the process, so it won't run in the way you'd expect if you were actually sitting on the server :,( I don't know if this is also the case with *NIX but I hope not. ---- Server IP: 87.124.64.96 Probable Submitter: 212.44.45.165 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.shell-exec.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/80792 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80792/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80792/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80792/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80792/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80792/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80792/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/80792 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/80792 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
