Thanks to rob at withoutsin dot com for his authMail routine.
In my case I found it necessary to loop though all the output from the server in response to AUTH
LOGIN before I got to the actual username request. Here's what did the trick on my setup:
<?php
for ($i=1; $i<20; $i++) {
fgets($smtpConnect, 4096);
}
?>
You should be able to use the $logArray to find the magic number for your server.
