It'd sure be swell if we could specify phpinfo()'s output style. Just because I'm
working in a web page doesn't mean I want HTML output. Indeed, I'd like to be able to do
this in my HTML page

for debugging purposes, but I can't get plain text. :-( I can't afford the mess of HTML
that phpinfo() spews into the page itself.
