I used this code to turn register_globals off:

php_flag register_globals 0
?>
Now I get an 500 Internal server error, I've tried to set it back with the inverse code

php_flag register_globals 1
?>
and didnt work. BTW im using a shared hosting the admin told me to use the .htaccess way to disable
register_globals I need this to work so I can install the XRMS from sourceforge. Can anyone help me?
PS: consider im a complete PHP beginner :p
