pingImage is effecient way to determine image attributes. It can dramatically speed up identifying
images, I noticed major speed-up (8x) with JPEG images.
Usage:

$file = 'foo.jpg';
$image = new Imagick($file);
$image->pingImage($file);
$image_info = $image->identifyImage();
?>
