I'd like to say thanks to php at bucksvsbytes dot com. Your post about mm-dd-yyyy not being
valid helped me keep my sanity! I couldn't figure out what was going on. But after reading
your post I popped a simple str_replace('-', '/', $date) into my strtotime call
and voila!
