one thing which is troubling me is some cmd does not return any output to the cmd window. for
example.
$cmd = 'matlab -r exit' ;
$ret = system($cmd, $retval);
echo count($ret);
--------output result---------
$ret = ' '
$retval = 0
-----------------------------
therefor I am thinking is it good to use $retval == 0 to detect if the pervious matlab process is
done. for example.
if ($retval == 0){
$next_cmd = 'matlab -r exit' ;
$ret = system($next_cmd, $retval);
}
