I think this is stupid, PDOException should not extend RuntimeException because it isn't. Runtime exceptions are supposed to be unpredictable and represent a programming errors that, in most cases, should not be captured. PDOException is an SQL exception that we know in advance it can be thrown. Check for example SQLException in Java. This is not the only case, i think all the exceptions that extend from RuntimeException should extend from Exception instead. ---- Server IP: 190.2.55.3 Probable Submitter: 200.81.250.211 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/class.pdoexception.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/84935 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/84935/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/84935/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/84935/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/84935/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/84935/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/84935/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/84935 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/84935 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
