note 13501 added to function.fopen.php

I´m using the fopen funtion to read the lines from a txt file. It works fine with a file that has
3k but when i´m trying to read from file with aprox. 180k i receive the message "file or path
not found".
In my opinion that´s quite weird!! Does anyone have a clue what I can do to avoid that?
