It appears that parent refers to the base class of the subclass in which the method is defined, not the subclass in which the method is exceuted. This behaviour is consistent with other object-oriented languages. PHP's documentation is a bit unclear here, so I had to test it (PHP5.2.6). ---- Server IP: 217.160.72.57 Probable Submitter: 80.134.10.28 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/keyword.parent.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/86279 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/86279/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/86279/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/86279/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/86279/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/86279/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/86279/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/86279 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/86279 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
