Magic quotes! More like voodoo in my opinion, after wasting 2 days wrestling with stripslashes etc,
when all I had to do was turn magic quotes off - my code was already escaping them before sending
them to the db, so no problems there.
It's a pity there's no way of knowing when such safeguards are no longer recommended, when
leaving them in place can interfere with good coding practices that made them unnecessary in the
first place.
