It seems that this function does not exists on 5.2.4.
The code:

$mi = new mysqli('localhost', 'root', 'root');
echo $mi->get_client_info();
echo '<br>';
echo $mi->get_client_version();
?>
The output:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method mysqli::get_client_version() in /var/www/test.php on line 7

I don know if the function should be there and this is a mysqli driver's critical bug, or if
the function shouldn't exists and the documentation is wrong, so I won't open a bug in
your bugzilla.
