Note for PHP 5.2.6 (and probably previous versions too) users: the rowCount() method of the sqlite3
PDO driver is broken in this version, always returning 0 affected rows after an UPDATE/DELETE
statement. Same story for PDO::exec().
This bug appears to have been fixed in the latest 5.2.7 release candidates.
